Souvenirs and keepsakes help us relive our most cherishable memories. While we almost always associate souvenirs with our trips, we can have souvenirs from other events in our lives too. For example, Hollywood A-listers often pick up souvenirs from sets to remind them of their memories from shooting a particular movie. It is actually quite interesting for the fans to find out what exactly the stars picked out from the movie sets and why.
Ryan Reynolds – Deadpool
The 2016 superhero film, starring Ryan Reynolds, is the eight movie, in the X-men series. It earned millions and got a huge financial and critical success. Its huge success made it the ninth most successful movie in 2016. It was a much-apprehended movie and the one that Ryan Reynolds waited for 10 long years. Hence it is natural that he would want to keep a souvenir for the rest of his life. He took the best possible souvenir one can think of – the Deadpool suit! Well, we can definitely kill a few to get out hands on it too!
Chris Hemsworth – Thor
The Marvel comics character Thor is the God of Thunder and he goes around with a hammer. We all know that! But what we don’t know is that very hammer became Chris Hemsworth’s favorite. Thor Odinson was played by Chris Hemsworth and the movie Thor: Ragnarok became a huge hit. He picked up not one but 5 hammers from the sets of Thor. He even keeps one in his bathroom! We wonder if he feels safe with the hammer around?
Ben Affleck – Batman
While most stars, pick up souvenirs from sets just like that, Ben Affleck couldn’t get away with stealing. The Batman star Ben Affleck stole a Batarang from the sets of Justice League. The 2017 movie also starred Gal Gadot. The iconic prop from the sets of the movie got an honorable position in the living room of the star Ben Affleck. In an interview with Stephen Colbert for the Late Night Show, he gave hints that he might have picked up a few souvenirs. Word got around and the producer Warner Brothers billed the star for the souvenir. It is not exactly stealing hence! Well, Batarangs do not come cheap, so it is justified.
Chad Boseman – Black Panther
We have all loved and admired T’Challa’s Kimoyo beads in Black Panther. There are tons of fan sites selling those Kimoyo beads and various other fan merchandises related to the movie. While we commoners have to be satisfied with whatever we get out hands on, Chad Boseman, the real T’Challa had to take home the real Kimoyo beads. Definitely, a great souvenir to take home as a keepsake that will remind him always of the incredible movie he made in 2018.
Robert Downey Jr – Avengers
In 2014, Robert Downey Jr jokingly asked Marvel comics for the giant A used in the Avenger movie. Downey said, “On the last Avengers, there’s this scene where there’s this ‘A’ which is probably 30 feet tall, and I’m looking at it, and we’re shooting in England, and I go, ‘I need that in my office in Venice,’ ” In about a week’s time, he found the giant A in his office. And now it has got a place of honor in his office. We would certainly kill for perks like this in a job that pays Downey Jr, a cool $50 million! Too bad Ben Affleck didn’t get a similar perk from Warner Brothers!
Dakota Johnson – Fifty Shades Of Grey
We all have lusted after the gorgeous lingerie of Anastasia Steele, courtesy the filthy-rich Christian Grey. Turns out, even Dakota Johnson who played Ana Steele loved them too. In fact, she liked them so much that she stole a bunch of them. In an interview, she revealed that she wears them regularly and finds them very comfortable. It is true that being a big star, she could have bought them from stores too, but getting them from the sets adds some extra oomph to the underwears and Johnson likes it. She also admitted that she stole a flogger from the red room but it is acquiring dust in her garage.
Turns out celebs are just like us and they love some free stuff especially if they are some keepsake that reminds them of their great times in the movie sets.
